Science Slam – In cooperation with the iGEM team Bonn

On May 11th, 2017 at 7pm, the research center caesar is once again a place for an entertaining encounter between science and comedy. (In German language)

Science is just something for nerds and tree-huggers? Be prepared to be convinced of the contrary! 7 performers will do their best, in 10-minute talks, to make you laugh and marvel:

• As an experienced performer, Helene Hoffmann from Heidelberg will report on her research on glaciers in accordance with the motto "Ice, Ice, Baby".
• Andreas Schäfer from KIT Karlsruhe will make the hall quake as he brings us closer to the field of seismology.
• Guido Sonnabend from Meckenheim will present a colorful mix of his work between weather and quality management.
• With Roman Stilling from Münster, we will travel to the realm of the microbiome.
• Lorenz Adlung from the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg will help us understand cancer research.

We are especially looking forward to presenting you two newbies in Science Slam this year:

• Elisabeth Beß from the Life Science Incubator Bonn holds her first Science Slam and will build a bridge between biology and quality management.
• Andreas Till from the Life & Brain Center of the University of Bonn wants to pass his baptism of fire, too. He will give an introduction into the world of cell biology and autophagy.

As we expect a big rush this year as well, registration is necessary. Free registration and ticket: igem.uni-bonn.de/slam As always, participation is free of charge. Without registration and ticket, participation in the event is not possible.
