The WireUp2020 symposium is designed for PhD students of the Max Planck Society in the field of neuroscience, to develop the necessary skills to become future leaders in research. The symposium is organized ‘by PhD students for PhD students’.

The key points include:

  • connecting with other students from the different Max Planck Institutes and labs that work on the same broad topic of neuroscience.
  • expanding your network within the scientific community of the Max Planck Society.
  • gaining experience presenting your work to a broad audience.
  • hearing from panels on the topics of:
    • researchers in their early careers
    • grant application
    • careers outside of academia

Arrival and registration will take place from 12:00 to 14:00 on Sunday the 3rd of May with closing remarks around 13:00 on Tuesday the 5th. The schedule of the symposium includes short talks (15 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions), poster sessions, key note lectures, panel discussions, and lab tours. A detailed program will be available soon.

To provide lunch, dinner, snacks, and refreshments for participants, we have set a registration fee of 20 EUR to help cover costs.
