August-Macke-Hauptschule visits caesar public lab

21 pupils and their teachers visited our workshop “underwater sensation”. In an interactive and hands-on approach, the children learned about the development of the zebrafish larvae, a model organism that is highly important in the neuroscience research.

The children performed simple behavior studies on the zebrafish larvae in order to learn about the lateral line, a sensory organ, important to survive under water. In an interactive approach, the children were able to find out about the structure of a neuron and how neurons communicate with each other.

Pupils and teachers likewise were highly engaged during the workshop and got a real insight into the life and work of a neuroscientist.

A fun and special day for everyone involved!
