Online Activities

We offer various virtual activities for school and holiday periods to get to know the world of neuroethology better.

VIRTUAL SCHOOL LESSON

We offer the possibility to get an introduction to neuroscience including the structure and function of nerve cells in a virtual classroom lesson. We are also happy to provide materials to build a model of a nerve cell at home and to talk to a scientist in a virtual classroom about how it works (suitable for grades 8-10).

INTERVIEW WITH A RESEARCHER

We also offer excursions into our research, which can be combined with an online meeting with a researcher from the institute (suitable for all class levels).

PUBLIC LAB AT HOME

In the online course "Neurobiology, Behavioral Research & Genetics meet: Who behaves how and why", students first learn the basics of neurobiology and ethology, and then evaluate and discuss behavioral experiments on zebrafish larvae in an experimental part. Genetics also plays a role here. The program is suitable for grade Q1/2 during school and vacation time and is closely supervised. This course is so far only available in German.
